RED NEW MEXICO PLANET (2004), BY JOSH SIMPSON
ACQUIRED FROM THE ARTIST, SHELBURNE FALLS, MASSACHUSETTS, MAY 2004
MULTI-LAYERED HOTWORKED GLASS AND SILVER REACTIVE GLASS WITH GOLD FOIL AND GLASS CANE INCLUSIONS, BURL WOOD BASE
This small work by Josh Simpson is a cross between his microplanets and his Mars Prototype... typically, Josh's microplanets are bluish in color and don't include any glass cane inclusions. This small red planet is similar in concept to the Mars Prototype, but is just slightly larger than a microplanet. The burl wood base is a nice way to display this work.

Very cool!
