When I saw this work at the opening of the Dale Chihuly: New Work show at Jerald Melberg Gallery, I was immediately struck by the similarity of style between this work and the works of Bob Rankin, of which I have quite a few in my collection. There is a huge amount of layering and texturing in this work... it's a very nice combination of colors (predominantly blue and green, with some darker colors and gold) and geometry.
